WB Reportedly Considering Zac Efron For Green Lantern Corps Movie

Warner Brothers might have its plate full with upcoming projects for the DC Extended Universe, but there's a new rumor going around saying that Baywatch actor Zac Efron is being considered as the lead for a Green Lantern Corps movie.

According to a new thread on Reddit, word has it that Warner Brothers is considering Efron for a role in the DCEU as popular Green Lantern hero, Hal Jordan, or as Kyle Rayner, the superhero's replacement in the Emerald Twilight storyline in Green Lantern Vol. 3.

This new rumor comes after the leaked Green Lantern Corps production sheet revealed that the DCEU was looking for an actor between the ages 39 and 50 for the part of Hal Jordan. This leak came out last Friday, and fans started speculating that Warner Brothers might have been thinking of Tom Cruise to play the part. The details mentioned in the leak include Hal Jordan's description as a test pilot who's now become a veteran of the Green Lantern Corps, an intergalactic group of heroes protecting others for justice and for peace. In this description, Hal Jordan takes to mentoring a younger recruit, John Stewart.

However, if this new rumor about Efron is proven to be true, then Hal Jordan would be much younger than the production sheet sets him out to be. Efron is in his early 30's right now and the actor would make a great fit to play the Air Force Pilot version of Hal Jordan.

Let's wait and see how these rumors play out.

Green Lantern Corps has no production date as of the moment.
