Watch: MTG Player Aaron Barich Casts 'Light Up The Stage' While 'Experimental Frenzy' is in Play

Over the weekend, Magic: The Gathering player Aaron Barich won the Star City Games Worcester Open but it looks like she made one rule-breaking mistake during one of her matches, and it was caught on video.

The Worcester Open Weekend was one of the first major Standard tournaments with the new Core Set 2020 cards, and it was a great weekend to see which new decks and Core Set 2020 cards are viable in Standard. Barich won with her Mono-Red deck but during her match against Tom Kessler's Esper Hero deck, she illegally used two copies of the "Light Up the Stage" card from her hand while her "Experimental Frenzy" is in play.

If you're familiar with the card, you would know that "Experimental Frenzy" restricts its controller from playing cards from the hand but the Twitch clip above showed that Barich played a "Light Up the Stage" from her hand while the red enchantment card is in play. As you can see, she did it again with the second copy of "Light Up the Stage" from her hand and managed to get a "Lightning Strike" to deal 3 damage to kill her opponent's "Lyra Dawnbringer".

Of course, this is against the rules but it seems that the judges or the SCG Open coverage team didn't catch it at that moment.

Barich still won the SCG Worcester Standard Open so congrats to her, I guess.
