More than two weeks have passed since the sudden death of celebrity and writer Carrie Fisher, yet Star Wars fans still find it hard to believe that the spunk and quick-witted Princess Leia has truly passed away. Carrie was just as witty as Leia, and the actress had a lot of great moments outside of the Star Wars franchise.
To remember her by, fans atStar Wars Underworld have decided to give a little throwback to Carrie’s fun little roast of George Lucas when he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the America Film Institute back on the eve of June 9, 2005.
“Hi I’m Mrs. Han Solo and I’m an alcoholic,” Carrie opened at the event. “I’m an alcoholic because George Lucas ruined my life. And I mean that in the nicest possible way.”
Poking fun at Lucas’ sadism and her bikini outfit in Return of the Jedi, Carrie both honors and mocks the creator of the Star Wars, revealing how she was made to go bra-less in the Star Wars films because Lucas told her that there was no underway in space. It’s undoubtedly one of the many moments where Carrie’s wit shines. Fans who haven’t seen it yet better check it out now. The video's down below:
