As promised, Marvel Studios has dropped a whole new trailer for Captain Marvel, and like every other preview, the internet has gone to meticulously dissect it. Mr. Sunday Movies on Youtube gives us a thorough breakdown, and he also confirms a bunch of other info that wasn't in the trailer.
For one, some toys have revealed that Carol Danvers' Kree name is actually Vers, and based on what we see in the trailer, it looks like it will be the name assigned to her given of what's left of her nametag; in the trailer we find a broken one which stops at ‘Carol Dan—.'
We also get some confirmation that the ship that Carol flies in the film is an old version of the Avengers Quinjet. It's also possible that the facility that Fury takes her to is the same one that gets destroyed by Loki in the very first Avengers film.
The trailer also gives us a good look at the Skrulls, and we actually get to hear Ben Mendelsohn's Talos for the first time. Just like Mendelsohn's Director Krennic in Rogue One, it looks like Talos will also be having a slightly Australian accent in the movie. Rumor has it that Talos is actually in disguise as the boss of Nick Fury. We know that he infiltrates the humans, but I had no idea he would be that high up in the organization.
Though everyone is happy with the new Captain Marvel preview, the real prize of the week is the drop of the Avengers 4 trailer this coming Wednesday. We're also expected to get new trailers for Shazam! and Spider-Man: Far from Home as well.
Catch Captain Marvel in theaters March 8, 2019.
