The Contractor, originally titled Violence of Action, was released in theaters in April 1, 2022. Originally, the film was supposed to be released in December 2021. The release date was pushed to March 18, 2022 due to the pandemic. The movie's release date was pushed a second time to April.
And today, the film is available to stream through Paramount+ and Amazon Prime Video.
Was The Contractor Movie a Flop?
The Contractor had a budget of $50 million. Unfortunately, the movie only grossed $2 million, which makes it as one of the worst flops in history. And we can probably attribute this to the film's obscurity.
When the film was released in April, it had a limited release. Adding to that is the show's almost zero marketing efforts, which excuse it from being named a flop.
Hopefully, more streaming services pick up the film so it can earn back the money it used in making the movie.
