Star Wars might be the most popular Lucasfilm franchise out there but that doesn't mean the studio didn't create other truly memorable fantasy adventures. One of Lucasfilm's true treasures is Willow, which also featured Star Wars actor Warwick Davis. Davis has just confirmed that the film is getting a 30th-anniversary Blu-Ray.
Davis took to Twitter to share his excitement. Take a look at his tweet below.
"‘Forget all you know or think you know...' For the first time ever and to mark the film's 30th Anniversary, #Willow is out today to download on digital platforms. There's also a new Blu-ray complete with new title logo artwork. Lovely," Davis wrote. He also shared some awesome throwback photos featuring his co-stars and director Ron Howards as well as Star Wars creator George Lucas.
Although Davis' first role was as the Ewok named Wicket in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, his role in Willow made him a huge star. The film ensured that Davis will continue working with Lucas in several other projects in the future.
Willow was written by Lucas and directed by Howard. The fantasy flick also starred Val Kilmer as Madmartigan and Joanne Whalley as Sorsha. Screen legend Jean Marsh portrayed the villainous Queen Bavmorda in the film.
Davis' most recent movie was Solo: A Star Wars Story, where he played Weazel. He is also set to appear in Maleficent 2 alongside Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning in 2020.
The Willow 30th Anniversary Blu-Ray is currently available. The film is also available on digital download.
