It was recently revealed that Henry Cavill has reportedly signed on to return as Superman in future DC movies. While reports pointed out that there isn't a Man of Steel sequel in the works, fans were still hopeful that it'll be a stepping stone for a second movie, but a new rumor suggests fans will have to wait longer for another Superman film.

According to insider information received by Heroic Hollywood, Warner Bros. has no faith in Cavill's ability to lead a solo Superman movie yet. "A stand-alone Superman movie would not be successful at this time," the outlet says. "Perhaps once there's more momentum after playing a supporting role in some successful DC films, there would be more of a chance for a stand-alone film."

Basically, WB is allegedly making Cavill's supporting roles in upcoming DC films a chance to build up the character in the hopes to get sufficient interest for another solo movie. The outlet also pointed out that there's currently no script or plans for Man of Steel 2 and is not in open writing assignment on talent agency grids.

All that being said, fans should take this rumor with a grain of salt. Superman's return served as one of the highlights in the Justice League, with Cavill getting even more popular following his parts in Mission: Impossible - Fallout and The Witcher.
