Ever since Teen Titans Go came to Cartoon Network, the outrage from fans of the original was made clear. The fact that all of the original voice actors were brought back for an odd Family Guy-like cartoon infuriated many and had them wondering why they wouldn't just bring back the original series.
Tara Strong, who voices Raven in Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go recently revealed that if fans want a sixth season for the former, they will have to watch the upcoming movie of the latter.
On Twitter, the veteran voice actress urged fans on Twitter to watch the Teen Titans Go! To The Movies so that a sixth season of the original Teen Titans gets greenlit. How one leads to the other is questionable, to say the least, but this is what the mandate Warner Bros. executives have given them, at least according to Strong.
Could this be a joke from Strong? She does voice Harley Quinn regularly for DC animated films and video games like Injustice 2 or the Arkham series. Granted, she has never tweeted in character so she could be telling the truth. That or she just wants the film to succeed at the box office, so no one can blame her for that.
This isn't the first time we've heard rumblings of a Teen Titans comeback. During a Teen Titans Go panel, a few months back one of the producers teased that the original series was almost guaranteed for a comeback.
Considering how nostalgia-driven most entertainment forms are these days, this isn't a huge surprise. Then again, Teen Titans Go has been very popular and has lasted numerous seasons. The fact that it has a feature-length film is proof that people like the series.
Teen Titans Go! To The Movies hits theaters on July 27.
