WandaVision: Agatha Harkness Spinoff Series in the Works

When WandaVision aired earlier this year, Agatha Harkness easily became one of the fan-favorite characters. Ever since the finale aired, in which the character ended up surviving her battle against Scarlet Witch and trapped in her "Agnes" persona, fans have been wondering about what's next on the character in the MCU.

Variety has reported that Marvel Studios is developing an Agatha Harkness spinoff series for Disney+. Kathryn Hahn is set to reprise the role. Jac Schaeffer, who served as the head writer for WandaVision, will also serve as the writer and executive producer for the project. There are no plot details yet, but it is described as a dark comedy. In addition, Deadline noted in their report that Hahn has signed a larger deal with the studio where she will reprise the character across MCU films and shows.

It's not surprising that Marvel is working on an Agatha Harkness spinoff project. After all, the character became a huge sensation when the series was airing and she even went viral because of the song "Agatha All Along." Hahn also earned an Emmy nomination for her role in the series. The finale left a lot of room for her to return again someday and now we know that Marvel has more plans for the character since she will be also appearing in the films.

Now the question is how they will continue the story of Agatha Harkness? When we last saw her, Wanda created magical runes around the barrier which prevented Agatha from using her magic. Then, Wanda trapped her as the "Agnes" sitcom persona. There's a possibility that the series will explore the character being trapped in the persona and figure out how she can get her powers back. Then, perhaps, another magic-user would come to rescue her. There's a lot of possibilities that they can do. But whatever it is, it will surely be exciting to see the character's return in the MCU.
