WandaVision Star Paul Bettany Open to Come Back for Season 2

WandaVision, the first MCU series on Disney+, launched to huge success across its viewership and fan and critics response. Given the events on what happened in the finale and its category placement as a limited series at the Emmys, it is presumed that the nine-episode event series will stay as a one-off.

During a red carpet interview with Entertainment Tonight last Sunday at the Emmy Awards, WandaVision star Paul Bettany, who plays Vision in the series, was asked about the possibility of a second season. He responded, "We're here for a limited series so I don't think so."

But when he was asked if he will be open to returning for a second season if given a chance, he answered, "I'm already in. If it's there, I'm in."

The final episode of WandaVision hinted that we might see Bettany return to the MCU someday. Even though Vision "died" when Wanda closed the Hex, White Vision did survive the events. The last time we saw him, he fleed to somewhere in an unknown place after Vision restored his memories. There are no details yet if the character will show up in a future MCU film or show.

It is safe to say that WandaVision will remain as a one-off given that Wanda Maximoff will show up in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness where her storyline is expected to continue. Besides, the story of the series itself doesn't warrant another run. They can't do the formula of recreating old sitcoms again as it would be repetitive. There is also no narrative sense for the Hex to reopen and have Wanda reunite with the old Vision.

As far as we know, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will serve as some sort of continuation of WandaVision since it will be Wanda's next appearance. There are even rumors that Tommy and Billy will show up in the film. Meanwhile, Monica Rambeau is set to appear on The Marvels so that also serves as a continuation in terms of the character's story arc that started in the series.
