Walmart’s Super Bowl Ad Brings Together Every Big Sci-Fi Property from Flash Gordon to Star Wars

While there are a lot of things to expect from the Super Bowl, one thing that oddly gets a lot of attention are the commercials. Walmart has released their Super Bowl ad, and it has got to be one of the most ambitious sci-fi attempts of all time.

The most famous visitors in the universe are coming to Walmart.

They come in peace. They also come for groceries and beyond.

The Famous Vistors ad brings together the biggest sci-fi properties in Hollywood. Listing them down on my own, I spotted references for Star Trek, The LEGO Movie, Toy Story, Flash Gordon, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, Marvin the Martian from the Looney Tunes, Mars Attacks, Men in Black, Arrival, Guardians of the Galaxy, Blade Runner, and of course, Star Wars.

It's a very fun ad, and I can't imagine how Walmart was able to bring everything together. I mean, not only would they have to pay a lot of money to reference the properties, but the production value is also topnotch. I'm still dumbfounded as to how they managed to make Alex Winter younger for the Bill and Ted bit.

Then again, the promotion could work both ways; Walmart could be the main ad, but there's also promotion for said properties that were involved.

With a lot of people meme-ing about Avengers: Endgame being the most ambitious crossover ever attempted, it's kind of amazing how Walmart was able to pull this off. They managed to bridge together properties from completely different franchises, and they even cashed in for some top quality cameos.

I wonder what the Walmart ad guys will think of next.
