Vinland Saga has always been a violent show, but its latest episode might just be the most disturbing one yet. Recently, fans shared how horrified they are by what happened to Arnheid in Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 18.
Take note though, while fans were horrified by the episode, it’s not because of the quality.
In fact, many praised the episode, though the events there were just incredibly brutal and harrowing to watch.

Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 18 Is the Show’s Most Brutal One Yet
Episode 18 picks up with Ketil and his sons making their way back to the farm.
While his son is rallying the farm for a war, Ketil desperately searches for Arnheid for comfort.
Soon though, Ketil discovers that Arnheid is tied up in the farm’s stable after her escape attempt with Gardar. This revelation fully breaks Ketil.
What follows is probably the hardest scene to watch in Vinland Saga yet.
Ketil makes his way to the stable and sees Arnheid. There, he proceeds to beat her mercilessly.
Even when Arnheid reveals that she is pregnant, Ketil does not stop. He is only prevented from killing her by Snake, who intervenes.
While Ketil stops short of killing Arnheid, he still sees her as his property and does not want her to be sold to Leif. Though Ketil says he does not care at this point about Thorfinn and Einar.
At the end of the episode, Ketil gets his sword and seemingly readies himself for a confrontation against the king’s forces.

Fans React to the Latest Vinland Saga Episode
There have been many brutal moments in the Vinland Saga anime so far, but fans consider this one the most disturbing scenes yet as it sees Ketil brutally beating a defenseless pregnant woman.
Many fans noted that this fact made the scene incredibly tough to watch.
After all, while violent, many of the show’s previous fight scenes were between armed combatants.
The episode stirred up lots of discussions online, with many praising the anime’s presentation and the incredible acting of Arnheid’s voice actress, Mayumi Saco.
Fans also remarked about the lack of a reunion scene between Thorfinn and Leif as the episode’s end just showed them together.
While many were looking forward to a tender reunion, it made sense that this didn’t happen given what Arnheid went through.
Vinland Saga Season 2 will continue with Episode 19 which will be released next week.
