Victoria's Secret Fashion Show will finally return this year after a four-year-long hiatus. As its chief financial officer Timothy Johnson teased an all-new version of the show during the 2022 earning conference call on Friday, March 3, what does this event offer this time?

The Announcement of Victoria's Secret Fashion Show Return

Johnson officially announced the fashion show's return later this year.

"We're going to continue to lean into the marketing spend to invest in the business, both at top of funnel," Johnson said, via E! News. "And also to support the new version of our fashion show, which is to come later this year."

This would be the brand's first year as an independent public company, and CEO Martin Waters revealed some of the initiatives it had taken in recent months, like bringing in "more models and ambassadors of diverse sizes, ages abilities, and identities."

The news of the event's return comes after its show's cancellation in 2019 even before the COVID-19 pandemic hit.

At the time, its 2018 runway show reportedly had its "lowest ratings of all time."

After the announcement, fans can't help but think of the possible change the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show may feature.

It can't be denied that several controversies have surrounded the event in the past few years—from allegedly having toxic, misogynistic work environments tolerated by the execs to being tied to the criminal sex offender Jeffrey Epstein to setting modern beauty standards.

So, to stop these allegations, TMZ noted that the event might aim to be more inclusive.
