VICTON will mark its first-ever comeback without its member, Heochan, who departed from the group after his drunk driving incident.

Like other K-pop groups, VICTON underwent changes in the lineup before its debut. Still, it officially debuted with the mini album Voice to New World.

Years after it started conquering the K-pop scene, VICTON had to continue without another member after Heochan’s departure.

VICTON Comeback 2022 Without Heochan

On Sunday, VICTON surprised its fans when it uploaded a dramatic trailer on its YouTube channel for its upcoming comeback.

The clip serves as a sneak peek at its eighth mini-album, Choice. It will be the first comeback after Heochan’s exit from the group.

The same short teaser confirmed that it would be released on November 15 at 6:00 P.M. KST. VICTON shared similar news at the end of its second CHRONICLE concert.

VICTON is yet to reveal further details about the album. Schedules of teasers release have also not yet been confirmed.

Why Did Heo Chan Leave VICTON?

The announcement came nearly a week after VICTON’s agency, IST Entertainment, confirmed Heochan’s departure from the group.

According to the agency, it had a discussion with the members and Heochan himself regarding the idol’s decision to quit the group. He reportedly “did not wish to cause further damage” to VICTON following the DUI controversy.

“VICTON will be reorganized as a six-member group consisting of Han Seung Woo, Kang Seungsik, Im Sejun, Do Hanse, Choi Byungchan, and Jung Subin; and their “2022 VICTON FAN CONCERT [CHRONICLE]” and their other future scheduled activities will be carried out by the five members apart from Han Seung Woo, who is currently serving in the military,” part of the statement reads.

Heochan was put under probe by the police after he was caught driving under the influence of alcohol in September. At that time, he halted his activities and was assured he would return as a better idol.

He also expressed his regrets after committing the action he should never have committed.
