STRAY KIDS is enjoying all the milestones after dropping its new EP, MAXIDENT.

This month, STRAY KIDS officially marked its return with its EP, MAXIDENT. The title is a combination of the words maximum and incident, which means a big incident. Bang Chan hinted at the exciting project during a press conference last month, saying they worked hard on it, especially since the members felt much pressure while creating new music.

But amid all doubts and worries, STRAY KIDS proved how capable the group is of achieving more records.

STRAY KIDS Marks 2nd No. 1 on Billboard 200

On Sunday, Billboard shared a preview of its Billboard 200 for this week. The whole latest chart will be released on Tuesday.

In the preview, STRAY KIDS' MAXIDENT recorded a total of 117,000 equivalent album units in the US, becoming the second K-pop group to record more than one No. 1 on the chart following BTS.

The group scored its first No. 1 in the chart through its EP, Oddinary.

MAXIDENT also made a record for being the fourth album by a Korean act to score No. 1 this year. The first song, Oddinary, became the first No. 1 Korean music to enter the chart before BTS and BLACKPINK made it to the list with Proof and Born Pink, respectively.

It immediately put the spotlight on them ahead of its second world tour, Stray Kids 2nd World Tour Maniac, next month.

STRAY KIDS' MAXIDENT Achieved More Feat

The new Billboard honor came after STRAY KIDS set several records with its new EP.

Korea JoongAng Daily quoted JYP Entertainment's report regarding MAXIDENT's sales one week after its release. According to the agency, it sold 2.18 million units and ultimately outshined the record Oddinary set previously, which was 850,000.

STRAY KIDS now holds the fourth highest first-week sales among the K-pop groups after BTS, who holds the top three ranks.

The boy group also became the artist with second-highest first-week sales in Hanteo history.
