Spider-Man: Homecoming was such a huge success for Sony that they're confident enough to push forward with their spinoffs; one of which is the Venom movie starring Tom Hardy as the lead, Eddie Brock. We've been getting a lot of BTS videos and photos from the set, but now we have an official look of Hardy in character.

What's more is, Sony has also released the Venom panel from the Brazil Comic-Con experience, and though it doesn't reveal much, at least we can confirm one or two things. Director Ruben Fleischer confirms the use of the Lethal Protector storyline for the film, and he also mentions another comic influence, Planet of the Symbiotes.
With the movie set to come out this October, it would be smart for Sony to start marketing early, so as to get fans pumped for the film. At least it's not anything like the situation of Lucasfilm's Solo: A Star Wars Story, which is set to come out in May, but still no trailer in sight.
Venom is set for a release on Oct. 5.
