Following the series premiere earlier today, the official Urusei Yatsura remake's creditless opening and ending were shared online, giving fans a clear look at the vibrant opening and ending animations.

Specifically, the creditless opening and ending for the series were uploaded on the Fuji Animation Studio YouTube channel and shared on the anime’s official Twitter account.

Urusei Yatsura Remake Opening

The show’s opening uses the song aiue by Minami and SAKURAmoti.

Aside from the cheery song, the opening features bright visuals along with references to the original anime and manga source material, making it a treat for long-time series fans.

Urusei Yatsura is a 2022 TV anime that’s based on the manga of the same name by Rumiko Takahashi, the creator of other beloved works such as Ranma ½ and Inuyasha.

The manga was serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday from September 1978 to February 1987.

Thanks to its popularity, the manga received an anime series adaptation back in 1981.

The series follows Ataru Moroboshi, a lecherous high school student who is chosen as Earth’s defender against an invading alien force.

Instead of a trial by combat, Ataru is forced to face Lum, a beautiful alien in a game of tag -- with the Earth’s freedom still on the line.

Ataru ends up winning the game. He screams out in relief, but his celebration of the win is misinterpreted by Lum as a marriage proposal.

Thus, Lum decides to stay on Earth to begin her “marriage” with Ataru.

Urusei Yatsura Remake Ending

The ending of the anime features the song Tokyo Shandy Rendezvous by KAF and Tsumiki.

While it doesn’t have as many references to the classic manga, it also features distinct and brightly colored visuals.

As mentioned, this remake is the second anime adaptation of Rumiko Takahashi’s classic manga. The first one was made by Pierrot and Studio Deen and was an icon of the 80s.

This new anime is made by David Production, the studio behind several big anime hits, including the likes of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Cells at Work!.

For the remake, voice actress Sumire Uesaka was chosen to voice Lum. Uesaka is known for her roles such as Hayase Nagatoro in Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro, and Shalltear Bloodfallen in Overlord.

New episodes of the Urusei Yatsura remake are released every week, and it will run for four cours.
