Unexpected Turns In Kylo Ren’s Path Teased In The Last Jedi

Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) may have sealed his fate with the Dark Side of the Force after killing his father in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, however it seems like Supreme Leader Snoke's apprentice path may take some surprising turns in the sequel trilogy's upcoming installment, Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Speaking in a video interview with Sunday Today, Driver talked about the highly anticipated sequel to The Force Awakens, saying that the movie would take viewers to "unexpected" places in The Last Jedi.

With most fans criticizing The Force Awakens for taking too many notes from A New Hope, many have been worrying to no end that Rian Johnson's Star Wars movie might do the same and copy off too many things from The Empire Strikes back.

However, the cast and crew of the upcoming film have reassured fans time and time again that the film's story was nothing short of surprising. An older interview that Daisy Ridley had with Entertainment Weekly adds some detail to Driver's comments with the actress explaining how the difference between The Last Jedi and the rest of the Star Wars saga.

"What's wonderful is it's not so cut and dry, who's good and who's bad and that's not me saying, ‘Oh, my God, some people are gonna go bad. There's always room for bad people to make good decisions and vice versa. Again, that could be nothing to do with your parents and it could be everything to do with your parents."

Does this mean that Kylo Ren could start walking towards the light? Or does this simply mean that The Last Jedi would humanize its villains? Let's wait and see.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits cinemas December 15, 2017.
