Leaked Toy Image Reveals Another Ball Droid Joining BB-8 And BB-9 In The Last Jedi

Fans following the news on Star Wars: The Last Jedi know that toy leaks have revealed that a First Order droid that resembles The Force Awakens adorable ball of beeps and boops, BB-8. However it's not the only one in stock.

With Force Friday fast approaching, new images of The Last Jedi merch have started flooding online and one of the latest photos shows another BB-8 like droid ready to hit the shelves. Like BB-8 and BB-9 (the First Order ball droid), this new automaton has a similar ball-like design. The only difference is that the unit comes in all black and is named as a Resistance BB Unit.

Check it out down here:

Unlike BB-8, this new droid's dome head seems to be left uncovered, leaving it worn and haggard. It's pretty clear that the new droid's design doesn't seem to have the same charm as BB-8's. Without a proper name, one can wonder how much screen time this new automaton will receive. Is this BB unit a standard droid of the Resistance? How many ball droids will The Last Jedi really have?

Directed by Rian Johnson, Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits cinemas December 15, 2017.
