Uncharted Movie Director Says The Project Finally Has A Good Script

It looks like the Uncharted movie starring Spider-Man: Homecoming actor Tom Holland finally has a script to help it move forward.

Earlier today, Stranger Things executive producer and writer Shawn Levy teased fans with what to expect from the third season of the hit horror-science fiction series. Along with the update, the filmmaker who's also set to direct Sony Picture's upcoming Uncharted movie decided to speak up about the project.

Speaking with the Playlist, the filmmaker revealed that the film finally has a script and a star to go along with it, saying that he's excited about the project.

"As of right now, the closest to the starting line is Uncharted in that it's a massive title," Levy told the publication. "We now have a very good script and we have our star in Tom Holland. That is now subject to schedule and additional casting. But I would say as of right now, that seems to be the most near horizon. And it's a movie I'm very excited about."

This is definitely great news for fans. Sure, there still might be a lot to work on till Uncharted finally gets rolling to production, but the project has been in development for quite some time with Sony, and everyone's excited to see the film on its feet.

Just a little bit more, and maybe fans will finally even get a release date on the movie. Right now it looks like all that's left is additional casting – and a lot of fans are hoping that Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt might get added in to play the older version of Nathan Drake.

Right now the Uncharted movie doesn't have a release date, but we'll update everyone as soon as we get word.
