Uma Thurman 'Proud' of Tarantino for Exposing her Car Crash Footage

Uma Thurman has just recently dropped the bomb that she almost died on the set of Kill Bill, and she had blamed Quentin Tarantino for making her do the dangerous stunt. Despite this, Thurman is still thankful for Tarantino for releasing the footage, and she says that she is ‘proud' that he did so after all these years.

Here's her post:

"Quentin Tarantino, was deeply regretful and remains remorseful about this sorry event, and gave me the footage years later so I could expose it and let it see the light of day, regardless of it most likely being an event for which justice will never be possible. He also did so with full knowledge it could cause him personal harm, and I am proud of him for doing the right thing and for his courage."

With everyone hotly anticipating more news on Tarantino's Star Trek movie, a scandal like this could certainly hurt the project, but it seems that Thurman is not placing all of the blame on Tarantino, but rather on Miramax's big wigs, particularly Harvey Weinstein.

As for Tarantino, he has also broken his silence about the scandal and says that he is still deeply regretting that the crash had to take place. He tells Deadline:

"I thought, a straight road is a straight road and I didn't think I needed to run the road again to make sure there wasn't any difference, going in the opposite direction. Again, that is one of the biggest regrets of my life. As a director, you learn things and sometimes you learn them through horrendous mistakes. That was one of my most horrendous mistakes, that I didn't take the time to run the road, one more time, just to see what I would see."

The crash was said to have permanently damaged Thurman's knees and neck. It hasn't stopped the actress from working, though.

Hopefully this whole scandal ends up mending the bridge between Thurman and Tarantino in the long run. The two have made some memorable movies together, and it's a shame that we haven't seen the two collaborate for a while.

The obvious choice would be Kill Bill Vol. 3, but personally, I'd want Thurman to make an appearance in Tarantino's Star Trek film.
