Ultraman Season 2 Reveals New Character Maya in Character Video


Ultraman Season 2 is coming very soon so it's time to meet some of the new faces that will be introduced in the Netflix series next month. The first character video for the second season reveals a new alien named Maya who has something against Ultraman!

The new character video for Ultraman Season 2 introduces Maya, a Wadoran alien who seems to have a grudge against earthlings. She points out that Earth has Ultraman to save them but aliens like her have to fend for themselves. As it turns out, Maya has a traumatic past and it looks like we'll get to see her full backstory in the anime soon.

Maya will be played by Ayane Sakura in Ultraman Season 2. She joins returning first season voice cast members Ryohei Kimura as Shinjiro Hayata, Takuya Eguchi as Dan Moroboshi, Megumi Han as Seiji Hokuto, and Hideyuki Tanaka as Shin Hayata.

The other cast members include:

  • Ken Uo as Mitsuhiro Ide
  • Shigeru Ushiyama as Edo
  • Ryota Takeuchi as Jack

The first season of Ultraman premiered on Netflix in 2019 and follows Shin Hayata's son Shinjiro as he discovers a strange ability. With the help of his father, Shinjiro must become the new Ultraman and save Earth from aliens who will stop at nothing to destroy humanity.

Ultraman Season 2 will be directed by Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki, who previously worked on the first season. The anime is being produced in 3D by Production I.G and Sola Digital Arts.

The first episode of Ultraman Season 2 will be screened at the Ultraman World Premiere and Orchestra Concert in Japan on April 10, 2022. The second season will then premiere on Netflix on April 14, 2022.
