Netflix Reveals New Anime Lineup Including Ultraman Season 2, Bright: Samurai Soul, and More


It's no secret that Netflix has been churning out original anime content for some time now and this year is no different. The streaming service just unveiled new teasers for upcoming animes including Bright: Samurai Soul, Drifting Home, and Super Crooks. In addition to that, shows like Ultraman and Aggretsuko have been confirmed for new seasons.

The updates were dropped during TUDUM where fans got first glimpses at new shows and returning ones. Let's start off with a behind-the-scenes look at Bright: Samurai Soul which will feature Japanese superstar Miyavi in his first voice acting role.

Miyavi will voice the villainous Koketsu in the upcoming Bright spin-off. The Kate star admitted he was nervous about taking on the role since it would be the first time he had to act through his voice. Bright: Samurai Soul will premiere on October 12.

Super Crooks is actually a Mark Millar creation but with an anime twist. It's a super-powered heist movie that will thrill you on November 25.

Fans who have been waiting for Retsuko's return got great news as Netflix renewed Aggretsuko for Season 4. The first poster for the upcoming season features a new antagonist who might get between Retsuko and Haido. The series returns in December 2021.

We're getting a new anime from Studio Colorido where two young friends find themselves lost at sea and desperate to find their way back. Drifting Home has not yet been given an official release date but is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2022.

Finally, we got our first glimpse at Ultraman Season 2. The release date has not yet been announced but we'll see it again in 2022.
