For the past several weeks, we've been seeing a lot of promotional materials for the upcoming highly-anticipated TV series adaptation of the hit video game Twisted Metal which is set to release later this month.

Recurring MCU star Anthony Mackie is starring in the series which is described as a "high-octane action comedy" that is set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland and involves a lot of action-packed vehicle chases just like in the video game.

Now, as we are heading closer to its release, we finally have the official trailer for one of the most anticipated shows this summer.

The Official Trailer for the Twisted Metal TV Series Has Arrived

It also gave us a glimpse at the show's story where we find out that Mackie's character John Doe has to deliver a package across the post-apocalyptic wasteland and encounter a lot of marauders along the way including a very familiar person with a clown mask.

We also had our extended look at the characters played by Stephanie Beatriz, Neve Campbell (who is responsible for John Doe's wild adventure), Thomas Haden Church, and Samoa Joe's physical role of Sweet Tooth.

The trailer certainly promised a significant amount of violence and action in the series which is what fans are hoping for ever since the project was announced and, since it is a streaming series, they are not beholden to a limitation.

Hopefully, the actual series itself lives up to the quality that the trailer promises so that video game fans will be able to have another satisfying TV adaptation on their screens.

The synopsis reads: "Twisted Metal is a high-octane action comedy about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland."

"With the help of a badass axe-wielding car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck."
