Next month, the highly-anticipated TV series adaptation of the beloved video game Twisted Metal will finally arrive on our screens. A lot of fans are looking forward to seeing how they'll translate the game's wacky action-packed derby into a scripted series.

MCU vet Anthony Mackie stars in this adaptation while WWE's Samoa Joe will be playing Sweet Tooth with comedian Will Arnett providing the voice of the game's iconic character.

Now, as we're getting closer to its release, we finally have our first look at one of the show's fight sequences involving the two main characters.

Twisted Metal TV Series Releases Its First Sneak Peek Clip

Peacock releases the first clip for the Twisted Metal TV series where we see John Doe and Sweet Tooth get into an intense fight in an abandoned casino until they weirdly bonded with the hit '90s song "Thong Song" by Sisqo.

While the clip didn't give us the usual car derby that the original video game is known for, it does show us our first look at a seemingly love-hate relationship between Mackie's character and Sweet Tooth.

It also became apparent through this clip that the series will also have a comedic tone as Sweet Tooth also hits some funny one-liners and the vibe wasn't as serious as what you might expect on this kind of video game adaptation.

We should be hearing more trailers and promos regarding the series as we're getting closer to its release next month and, hopefully, they'll show more of the wacky car derby sequences that fans will expect.

Per the synopsis, Twisted Metal is described as a high-octane action comedy "about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland."

"With the help of a badass axe-wielding car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck."

The series is produced by PlayStation Productions and it is based on the classic PlayStation video game series. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick conceived the story of the adaptation while Michael Jonathan Smith served as the writer.
