Three years after it was initially revealed, Zack Snyder’s Twilight of the Gods finally has a release date. This was revealed by Netflix recently in a teaser video that featured the first look at the series.
While Netflix has teased the series before with a visual, this new video is the first time that viewers around the world can see the new animated series helmed by the notable film director.
From the looks of it, this new animated series has the potential to be quite a hit thanks to its Norse mythology premise, eye-catching animation, and stacked voice cast.
Twilight of the Gods Release Date Confirmed
Twilight of the Gods is an upcoming animated series being made by Xilam Animation. This show was announced back in June 2021 at a Geeked Week livestream, and it was revealed to be a project by Zack Snyder.
This makes it the latest in Snyder’s line of projects with Netflix. After all, after his stint in the DC Extended Universe, Snyder directed several films for Netflix, including Army of the Dead and Rebel Moon.
What makes this series interesting is that it is Snyder’s first major foray into animation. As he’s a live-action director, his involvement in this project is as the original creator and executive producer.
Even though it has been a long time since it was revealed, Netflix finally confirmed that Twilight of the Gods will be released on September 19, 2024.
Given that most Netflix originals get all their episodes released in one day, chances are that this series will also be available in its entirety on launch day.
Netflix Finally Shares Twilight of the Gods Teaser Trailer
The show’s release date was highlighted in the new teaser trailer that showed various clips of the characters in action.
Given the bloody action shown, this series may be poised to capture a similar audience to Netflix’s other animated shows such as Blood of Zeus and Castlevania.
Along with the clips, the teaser also previews some of the voice cast members, which include Sylvia Hoeks (Blade Runner 2049) and Stuart Martin (Army of Thieves).
Zack Snyder Explores Norse Mythology in New Netflix Animated Series
Snyder’s newest project is an intriguing one, as instead of building a new universe like his other recent Netflix works, this show is based on Norse mythology.
To be exact, this series will follow Sigrid, and it will also feature iconic gods of Norse mythology such as Thor, Odin, Loki, and many more.
For now, it’s not clear yet what exactly the story will be, as Netflix hasn’t shared a detailed synopsis yet. What’s certain based on the teaser is that this show will feature plenty of action.
