Final Fantasy is coming to the Nintendo Switch in a big way. Many thought that it would end with the remaster of Crystal Chronicles and the HD version of Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition but there is so much more. During the most recent Nintendo Direct presentation, it was announced that a slew of Final Fantasy games would be coming to the system.

In 2019, the Nintendo Switch will be home to Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy X, and X-2. Fans don't have to wait that long for a taste of this franchise, as World of Final Fantasy Maxima and Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon Every Buddy will be coming out this year.

The Zodiac Age is a remastered version of the underrated PS2 game and has already been released on the PS4. It also has an in-depth job system that adds more variety to the game. Final Fantasy X and X-2 will likely be based on the bundle that came out on PS3, PS4, and PS Vita, so expect shinier graphics and a reworked soundtrack. Final Fantasy VII and IX will be based on the PC version that was recently ported to PS4 so expect sharper visuals and a few quality-of-life improvements.

World of Final Fantasy Maxima will be an expanded edition of the RPG that came out on PS4 and PS Vita. Aside from the main game, it will also have a number of extras that were not in the original release. This version of the game is coming to Switch on November 8 and is also coming to PS4, PC, and Xbox One. Those that own the original game can buy the Maxima DLC to get the new content.

That's a lot of Final Fantasy love coming to the game, even if most of them are ports. Hopefully, the future will have simultaneous releases for Switch and other consoles.
