Tom Holland’s Young Nathan Drake Uncharted Movie In ‘Advanced Development’

Tom Holland has certainly been busy. Not only has the Marvel star appeared in Avengers: Endgame for his heartbreaking reunion with Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), but the actor is also set to star in his second standalone film, Spider-Man: Far From Home, later this year. The actor is also busy working on his Uncharted film adaptation, a project which is currently in "advanced development."

Sony Pictures Entertainment's just recently held an event for investors earlier this week, and after announcing the Twisted Metal television series (via Heroic Hollywood), Chairman and CEO Tony Vinciquerra decided to give an update on the Uncharted movie saying that the film is already in the advanced stages of development.

Sony has been trying to develop an Uncharted movie for years, however, the project only managed to really start rolling once it landed Tom Holland as its young Nathan Drake. The Marvel star became an instant fan-favorite after appearing in Captain America: Civil War. The actor's star power is expected to add some certainty of commercial success to the Uncharted project.

Though some are a bit unsure of having a young Nathan Drake star in the film, a younger version of the videogame series' lead might actually help Uncharted appeal to a more general audience.

For those who aren't familiar with the game, Uncharted is an action-adventure third-person shooter platform videogame centered around Nathan Drake, a charismatic yet obsessive treasure hunter ( a less cynical Indiana Jones if you will).

The Uncharted movie will reportedly chronicle a young Nathan Drake's first encounter with his partner, Victor Sullivan.

Uncharted doesn't have a release date just yet, but we'll update everyone as soon as we get word.
