With his closest friends no longer recognizing him, Marvel insider Alex Perez said that Tom Holland’s Peter Parker would eventually become focused on Spider-Man and cause his original persona to fade.

Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is last seen becoming detached from his friends Ned and MJ in Spider-Man: No Way Home, losing their memories of him due to Dr. Strange’s spell.

Although Peter is heard saying he’ll find his way back to them, comments by known Marvel insider Alex Perez illustrate a different future for this version of Marvel’s friendly web-slinger.

The publication Cosmic Circus recently organized a Q&A with Perez on Discord, during which many fans asked him questions about the future of certain Marvel characters.

One such participant, whose Discord username was arnihd_, asked Perez about the future of the third version of Spider-Man to grace the silver screen.

The insider explained that the first MCU Spider-Man trilogy, headlined by Tom Holland, aimed to portray his development as a hero. Immediately after Captain America: Civil War, Peter worked to earn a place in the Avengers in Spiderman: Homecoming, eventually realizing he was more at home being Spider-Man.

Peter eventually joined the Avengers during Infinity War and Endgame but had to carve his niche in Far From Home. All of this comes to a climax in No Way Home when he realizes that he will always endanger his friends and loved ones by being both Peter Parker and Spider-Man.

Perez then teased about the next chapter of Peter’s story. With his friends and family no longer recognizing him, Peter can now freely assume the persona of Spider-Man and aid the community, whether New York City accepts him for that or not.

The Marvel scooper explained that the Peter Parker persona would slowly start fading away to make way for Spider-Man, a process that Perez likened to the recent Robert Pattinson superhero movie The Batman.

Despite these comments, there is still no official word from Marvel on what Tom Holland's next outing as Spider-Man will be. On the other hand, Tom Holland has been announced to star in a yet-untitled Fred Astaire biopic and a World War II film.
