Spider-Man: No WayHome just might be the most anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe release this year and all the hype that has been surrounding the joint production between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures pretty much supports that claim. Last week, it was reported by several outlets that No Way Home will in fact mark the formation of the Sinister Six which will consist of villains from different alternate universes.

Just like in the comics, the supervillain group will reportedly be led by Norman Osborne aka Green Goblin and as previously rumored, actor Willem Dafoe has apparently signed on to reprise his role in the MCU. No official confirmation has been made yet but Dafoe generated a lot of buzz a few months back when he was spotted on the set of Spider-Man 3.

Now, amid all the speculation, artist @artoftimemarvel is joining the hype train as he recently unveiled his "spectacular" artwork depicting a showdown between Holland's Spidey and Dafoe's Green Goblin.

It's worth noting that Green Goblin died in the original Sam Raimi Spider-Man film from 2002 so it's safe to assume that the version Dafoe will be playing is from another dimension. However, it's also possible that Tony's Infinity Gauntlet snap or Wanda Maximoff's reality-altering powers may have shaken up the entire Marvel universe as we know it. One thing's for certain, a lot of mystery still surrounds Spider-Man: No Way Home.

is scheduled for release in December.
