Tom Holland is one of the biggest names in Hollywood. There is no doubt about that following the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home. And there are rumors that a bigger project awaits him because he could be the next James Bond after Daniel Craig.
Tom Holland Could Replace Daniel Craig As James Bond
Daniel Craig had played the popular British spy agent for 15 years. However, Craig ended his James Bond era in No Time to Die, which was released in 2021.
Following his departure from the franchise, many are wondering who will be the next agent 007. There are rumors that the MCU star will likely take up the role.

"Tom Holland might not be the traditional Bond type, but the odds suggest he has a slight chance of replacing Daniel Craig, and plenty of punters seem to think the same," Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said about Holland being the next James Bond, Animated Times reported.
The James Bond franchise could be the next big project for the Unchartered star, whose contract with MCU for Spider-Man had already ended.
"It’s the first time since I got cast as Spider-Man that I don’t have a contract," he told Empire. "It’s just really difficult for me to talk about, because there are so many things I’d love to talk about that would help me embellish what I’m trying to explain. But I can’t because it would just ruin the film."
Tom Holland Loves James Bond, Wants To Play Agent 007
The Avengers: Infinity War actor has been honest about his desire to play the British spy character. He admitted when he appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers that he was a huge fan of the franchise and loved Craig's James Bond films.
"Essentially, I’m such a big fan of James Bond. I’ve loved Daniel Craig’s movies. And I just thought: If they were to move on it would be really exciting to see how James Bond becomes James Bond. So, I pitched this idea for a movie, which is kind of a stupid idea," Holland shared. "Essentially you wouldn’t tell the audience that it was a James Bond movie until the end, but from a marketing point of view, that’s a nightmare. Like that just doesn’t make any sense."
It wasn't the first time Holland expressed his desire to play Bond. In another interview, he mentioned that he pitched that idea because "it was a dream of a young kid," suggesting that he had his eyes on the character since he was young. However, Holland acknowledged that the Bond estate was not interested. But that pitch gave him the opportunity to play as young Nathan Drake in the Uncharted prequel.
Jacob Batalon, who plays Ned, Peter Parker, a.k.a. Spider-Man's best friend, told GQ how much Holland loved the character.
"He talks about being James Bond a lot," Batalon said. "A lot a lot."
Holland also spoke about his pitch with Extra when they promoted Spider-Man in 2019. He also played along when asked about the rumor of being cast as the next James Bond.
"I'm so excited that they've cost me and you know, I'm really gonna change the game and thanks for bringing that to my attention because I forgot about it," Holland said, making his co-stars Batalon and Zendaya laugh.
But on a more serious note, he confirmed that he really loved to play the role.
"I would love to play James Bond one day. It's funny as a kid growing up, the two characters I've always wanted to play with either Spider-Man or James Bond," he told Extra while promoting Spider-Man with Zendaya and Batalon.
Zendaya's boyfriend also joked that it would be best if he wouldn't get the role because he couldn't help but spoil it for fans.
"If I got cast as Bond, I’d be like, I am James Bond. Tweet," Holland said.
