It may come as a huge surprise to some people but Marvel actor Tom Holland is extremely hands-on when it comes to his portrayal of Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and if things were up to him, he'd like for his character to go against the grain. In fact, the 25-year-old British star has gone as far as pitching ideas for Peter Parker in the franchise but according to him, while some of his ideas were used in the films, a lot of his proposals were turned down by Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures.
In an interview with Capital FM which originally aired during promotions for Spider-Man: Far From Home, Holland revealed that he wanted for Peter Parker to have a "passionate sex scene" presumably with Zendaya's MJ in the MCU but the studios rejected his request which doesn't come as a surprise considering Disney is very conscious about its company image. He shared: "I said, 'I think we should have a really passionate sex scene' but they're like, 'No, I don't think so.'"
Whether he was serious about his outrageous idea or it's just his dry British humor coming into play during the interview, we'll never truly know but I'm guessing Holland is already growing tired of being portrayed as a kid in the MCU so I wouldn't exactly fault him for wanting to do something more mature. Now that Peter and MJ are officially an item in the franchise, it'll be interesting to see if they'll be able to take their relationship to the next level especially now that Parker's Avenger identity has finally been exposed.
Spider-Man: No Way Home hits cinemas this December.
