Marvel fans are still months away from getting the seemingly hilarous Thor: Ragnarok, and though a lot of Marvel Studios marketing has been focused on the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, there's still a lot of excitement building for Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Hulk's (Mark Ruffalo) space buddy movie especially since New Zealand's golden comedy director, Taika Waititi, is helming the film.
Speaking in an interview with Collider today, Tom Hiddleston who is set to return in Thor: Ragnarok as Thor's mischievous brother, Loki, decides to talk about the humor in the movie and the way Waititi works on set.
"It was fantastic!" the high-profile Hollywood actor gushes about working with Waititi. "He's a wonderful director. He's very spirited and light-hearted."
According to Hiddleston, Waititi will definitely be bringing his own brand of humor to the Marvel movie, explaining that:
"as a director, you can't help but leave a fingerprint of who you are on the film you make, and Taika is a very warm-hearted, generous spirit who loves to make people laugh. I think you'll definitely see humor in Ragnarok."
Of course it's already expected that Waititi would add some of his flair to the Marvel film, but knowing his quirky, slice-of-life, mockumentary style of comedy, fans were wondering whether Marvel Studios would allow a different kind of levity for Thor: Ragnarok. Afterall, while most Marvel movies have its own humor, it's never been the same as Taika Waititi's. Let's wait and see how much of the "Darryl and Thor" kind of jokes make it into the film.
Thor: Ragnarok premieres on November 3, 2017.
