Fans are currently celebrating the renewal of Lucifer for a fifth and final season. Not surprisingly, Tom Ellis is feeling extremely grateful and has posted an emotional message for the show's supporters.

Ellis took to his official Twitter account to write a heartfelt message dedicating Lucifer Season 5 to the fans. Take a look at his tweet below.

"It's beautifully overwhelming to know how much love there is for #lucifer out there...thank you to everyone for your congratulations on the announcement of our final season. It's bittersweet for us too but all good things must come to an end...always leave them wanting more!" Ellis wrote.

There's a good reason why Ellis is feeling emotional about the renewal. After all, Lucifer had been cancelled by Fox after its third season. However, fans have appealed to several networks and streaming services to save the series. Luckily, Netflix stepped in and recently released Lucifer Season 4.

Although it is disappointing to know that the fifth season will be the last one, it's still great news considering that Lucifer will get to close the story gracefully. Needless to say, we're looking forward to seeing Ellis reprise his role as Lucifer Morningstar at least for one final season.

It is still unclear what will happen in Lucifer Season 5. After all, Lucifer decided to return to Hell in the Season 4 finale. Will he come back to Earth and get reunited with his beloved Chloe?

Lucifer Season 5 has not yet been given an official premiere date. Nevertheless, the final season could begin production later this year.
