This announcement confirmed fans' expectations of seeing the Mew Mews and other characters for another season!
The first season of Tokyo Mew Mew New ran for only 12 episodes. It adapted four volumes of the source material, which received mixed reactions from fans.
Remember that the original Pierrot anime was 52 episodes long, including fillers, as opposed to the new reboot, which compresses 16 chapters into 12 episodes.
The Tokyo Mew Mew New reboot ended with the Mews fighting Quiche, Tart, and Pie in the Tokyo Tower.
When the villains unleashed the Chimera Anima, Dust Wyvern, the air in Tokyo was polluted by poisonous dust.

Tokyo Mew Mew New Season 2 Release Date
According to the series' official website, Tokyo Mew Mew New Season 2 is set to be released in April 2023.
Like the previous season, the second season will premiere on TV Tokyo and its affiliates as well.

In addition to the announcement, Tokyo Mew Mew New will host a special event called "Tokyo Mew Mew New Special Event Cat!! Shite SuperParty" on February 26, 2023, at JCOM Hall Hachioji with cast members.
Furthermore, on January 7 to 8, 2023, the series will hold a live script reading at Jiji Press Hill in Tokyo.
Smewthie, the unit comprised of the five main cast members, will hold a live reading drama on November 22 and a Christmas event on December 22 prior to the events next year.
