The summer anime season has begun! Aside from huge comebacks, the summer season also offers the reboot of Tokyo Mew Mew! With the pilot episode out already, how many episodes will Tokyo Mew Mew New have?
Originally, Tokyo Mew Mew was released in 2002. With the 20th anniversary of the series’ publication as well as the 65th anniversary of Kodansha’s Nakayoshi magazine, the series has received a reboot entitled Tokyo Mew Mew New.

How Many Episodes Will Tokyo Mew Mew New Have?
As of this writing, Tokyo Mew Mew New is set to release 12 episodes.
This is according to the official Tokyo Mew Mew New anime website. This was revealed following the release of the three Blu-ray and DVD volumes of the new reboot in Japan.
With the original series lasting 52 episodes, it would not be surprising if the Tokyo Mew Mew New reboot has more episodes. Only time will tell at this point.
If the reboot is well received by fans, the anime production will almost certainly produce more episodes.
After all, the original series covered so much ground that the reboot could have lasted two or more seasons.
If you're unfamiliar with the series, Tokyo Mew Mew New is a magical girl show in which Ichigo Momomiya and her friends must repel an alien invasion using their newly discovered superhuman abilities.
As part of the Mew Project scientists' experiments, Ichigo gains the ability to project the powers of an Iriomote leopard cat.
Tokyo Mew Mew New is based on the original anime series' plot and features the same cast of characters. Not only will Ichigo Momomiya return, but so will Minto Aizawa, Zakuro Fujiwara, Bu-Ling Huang, and Lettuce Midorikawa!
Will There Be More Tokyo Mew Mew New Episodes in the Future?
As of this writing, neither the creators nor the anime production has said anything about extending the Tokyo Mew Mew New episodes.
However, given that the original anime series had 52 episodes, it is possible that they will produce more episodes depending on certain conditions.
If the reboot is well received by the anime community, particularly in Japan, Tokyo Mew Mew New will most likely be extended for more episodes.
For the time being, fans will have to wait until the 12-episode run of Tokyo Mew Mew New concludes. This article will be updated if and when the creators announce an extension for your information.
