At last, Ichigo Momomiya makes it to the Mew Mew Café. It is a secret scientific headquarters led by Keiichirou Akasaka, a cryptid researcher, and Shirogane Ryou, a wealthy high school student. They are both working to stop an unidentified alien invasion that is using animals as pawns on Earth.
Keiichirou claims that in order to locate a human DNA match, he created five separate sets of genetic material from endangered species. Since Ichigo matched the Iriomote cat, her DNA was infused with the animal's genetic material.
It was also the case with Mint Aizawa, who was infused with blue lorikeet DNA. Ichigo must now activate the powers of the other Mews to assist them in saving the world. At the same time, Ichigo must work at the Mew Mew Café to gather information not available in newspapers or on television.
Ichigo went to school the next day, only to discover that her powers manifested when her emotions got the best of her. Her cat's ears and tail appeared unexpectedly during her encounter with Aoyama! Ichigo quickly excused herself from the conversation to avoid being discovered.
She ran into Lettuce Midorikawa, who bought crepes for her friends in the midst of her ear and tail problems. Lettuce, according to Ichigo's observations, is an outcast from the group. The incident at the Mew Mew Café has also confirmed her situation.
Lettuce's friends want her to confirm the rumors about the girl who haunts the school pool. Ichigo overheard their conversation and purposefully tripped, knocking the parfait over the face of one of Lettuce's friends.
Thanks to Keiichiro's prompt follow-up, Ichigo was able to speak with Lettuce and inquire about her friends.
While Ichigo believes Lettuce does not deserve the treatment she receives from her friends, Lettuce aspires to be their true friend one day.
Regardless of their bad behavior toward her, Lettuce wants her friends to express their feelings and talk about their problems with her like real friends.
After she and her friends left the café, Keiichiro and Ryo informed Ichigo and Mint that Lettuce was a Mew. Her DNA contains genetic material from a finless porpoise.
As a result, Ichigo and Mint were tasked with activating Lettuce's powers and rescuing her from the haunted girl in the school's swimming pool, whom they suspected was a Chimera Anima.
Ichigo and Mint discovered at school that Lettuce is the haunting ghost girl everyone was talking about. Lettuce is unable to control her Mew abilities due to her heightened emotions. As a result, she attacked both Ichigo and Mint.
Despite this, Ichigo bravely persuaded Lettuce to reconsider the friendship. She opened her eyes to offer her the opportunity to be her friend. Ichigo believes that friendship is more about wanting to be together than spending time together. In the end, Lettuce was ultimately saved by Ichigo.
Lettuce officially joins Tokyo Mew Mew before the episode ends.
