Todd Phillips Wants Batman to Show Up in Joker Universe

Anyone who has seen Joker is probably still wondering if there is any chance that we'll eventually get to see young Bruce Wayne become Batman in this part of the DC Universe. Interestingly, director Todd Phillips has teased on the possibility that this will happen in the future.

Phillips recently spoke to Variety where he admitted that seeing Batman in the Gotham that Arthur Fleck terrorized would be an awesome thing.

"It's a beautiful Gotham. What I would like to see someone tackle is what Batman looks like from that Gotham," Phillips confessed.

This is something that many DC fans would welcome considering that Joker already planted the seeds with a young Bruce interacting with Arthur and eventually losing his parents at the end of the film. However, it's important to point out that Phillips doesn't want to be the one to work on a possible Batman film set in the same universe.

"I'm not saying I'm going to do that," Phillips said. "What was interesting to me about the inclusion of Batman in our movie was, ‘What kind of Batman does that Gotham make?' That's all I meant by that."

That sounds like something that Warner Bros. would probably agree with considering that Joker was a huge success. On the other hand, we probably won't see that with The Batman, which will star Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader. Nevertheless, we're still holding on to hope that we will eventually see the Batman that Arthur helped create.

Joker has been nominated for several Golden Globes including Best Actor for Joaquin Phoenix and Best Film.
