Today’s Webtoon is a 2022 Korean remake of the Japanese drama, Sleepeeer Hit! The upcoming drama tells the story of a former judo athlete who decides to be part of the webtoon editorial department. But the character faces no smooth path to becoming a true webtoon editor.
In the series, Kim Sejeong plays the lead role of On Ma Eum, a judo athlete who wants to join Olympics not until an accident happens and causes her to work at a webtoon editorial department instead.
But aside from her career, the drama will also focus on On Ma Eum’s personal life.

Today’s Webtoon Offers Sneak Peeks of On Ma Eum, On Ki Bong
On July 18, Today’s Webtoon’s production team offered sneak peeks (via Naver) of the father-daughter characters.
On Ki Bong, played by Gong Chang Suk, is a coach of a high school judo team. Despite being a great coach, he never had the chance to fulfill his dreams of winning a gold medal at the Olympics. With that, his daughter, On Ma Eum, becomes his only hope and he trains her to become a gold medalist.

The photos also show the father looking proud as On Ma Eum earns medals during judo competitions.
But as she eventually needs to give up sports due to the injury she sustains, the father and daughter are expected to continue showing deep love for each other in the drama.
“Kim Sejeong and Kim Kwang Gyu portrayed a father and daughter who care about each other in SBS’s ‘A Business Proposal,’ and she will create chemistry with Go Chang Suk that exceeds expectations and predictions in ‘Today’s Webtoon.’ It is said that the two actors have the same speech, behavior, and facial expressions on the drama set,” the production team said.
The drama also asked the viewers to look forward to their acting skills soon.

Before the photos were released, KBS Catch’s YouTube channel also uploaded its first 16-second trailer featuring Kim Sejeong’s On Ma Eum.
The idol-turned-actress looks different as she sports a short haircut with full bangs on. The character then sees the magical world of webtoons as titles and sketches start to appear on the screen before the computer screen lights up and shows exciting stories she works on.
She suddenly falls into the webtoon she is reading as sparkles surround her after staring at the computer screen for too long.
