Poong, The Joseon Psychiatristoffered a sneak peek at Kim Hyang Gi’s character, Seo Eun Woo.
Kim Hyang Gi scored as one of the main characters in the upcoming historical-medical drama alongside Kim Min Jae and Kim Sang Kyung.
The series is based on a novel of the same name that tells the story of Yoo Se Poong, a physician for the royal family who soon loses his job due to a conspiracy about the monarchy. He eventually moves to Gyesu Village, where he starts training to become a doctor who focuses on patients with physical and mental health issues.

Kim Hyang Gi Transforms Into Seo Eun Woo in Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist
Naver obtained photos shared by tvN, showing Kim Hyang Gi as she portrays Seo Eun Woo’s role.
The character is a widow who gathers stories of people who are brokenhearted. With her personality, she shares a great amount of empathy with other people.

After feeling wronged because of her sudden marriage, she suddenly meets Kim Min Jae’s Yoo Se Poong, who changes her life instantly.
In the teaser photos, Seo Eun Woo beams her innocent visuals as she stands under the stand. In another, she examines a dead body without fear or disgust.
Her eyes change in the third photo, showing sadness as she wears plain white clothing.
Kim Hyang Gi Talks About Series and Character’s Charm
When asked to pick a word to describe the series, she chose person as the K-drama highlights the stories of people with illnesses. She also hinted at the ideal environment at the Gyesu Village Hospital.
As for her character, she said that Seo Eun Woo is a huge believer in protecting people who flaunt different charms that are different from the roles the actress played before.
“Seo Eun Woo also has a painful story. I will do my best to try and show the subtle changes during her three stages: before the pain, the process of passing through the pain, and recognizing and overcoming the pain,” she continued.
Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist will release episode 1 on August 1 at 10:30 p.m.
