Tobey Maguire Gets Blamed For Avengers: Infinity War’s “Snappening”

There was a whole lot of devastation when Thanos snapped his fingers in Avengers: Infinity War. Using the combined power of all six Infinity Stones, the Mad Titan wiped out half of the living population in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, turning heroes like Tom Holland's Spider-Man, Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther, and Vin Diesel's teenage Groot into dust.

Though some have been directing their anger at Thanos, it looks like others have decided to place the blame on another face instead – this time Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker.

There's a new meme floating around on Reddit, and after combining together the most depressing scenes in Infinity War together with the wackiest dance in Spider-Man 3, Marvel fans get a hilarious alternate version of the "snappening."

Swaying down the streets with a casual snap here and there, Maguire turns heroes like Bucky (Sebastian Stan), Groot, and of course Marvel's new Spider-Man, into fine layers of dust. It's a hilarious meme, really, one that helps lift the fanbase's spirits while waiting for the outcome of Avengers 4.

Though many fans expect the snappening to be reversed in the Infinity War sequel (there's no way that Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man and Chris Evans' Captain America are going to sit around and do nothing), there are some characters that many are still worried about. Sure, Tom Holland's return might be pretty rest assured with Spider-Man: Far From Home set for release next year, but what about the other heroes without their own Marvel movies?

Let's just cross our fingers and wait and see.
