After more than a year, it's almost time to pile up the tissues and enjoy another season of To Your Eternity. Fushi's story makes for one of the most unique and heartbreaking anime of all time. Here's all about To Your Eternity Season 2's release date, studio, where to watch, trailer and everything you need to know.

What is To Your Eternity About?

Based on Yoshitoki Ooima's manga of the same name Fumetsu no Anata E, known in English as To Your Eternity follows a mysterious immortal creature who was sent to Earth to evolve through emotional stimulation.

Starting life as an orb, the creature soon turns into a wolf, then a shapeshifting boy. The boy's name is Fushi, which means "immortal" and his journey is both beautiful and heartbreaking.

As Fushi comes across more living beings, both humans and animals, he grows, acquires languages, understands relationships, and discovers all the blessings and growing pains associated with love.

Whenever someone close to him dies, Fushi gains the ability to acquire their form and use it whenever needed.

But carrying one's favorite people becomes hard work after a while, and being the only immortal one around is heartbreaking for both Fushi and the audience!

Season 1 ends with Fushi remaining alone on a faraway island after the death of Pioran, his grandmother figure.

Whenever Fushi transforms, his default boy form resets, and, as the last scene of Season 1 features him significantly aged, one can assume that he refrained from changing form for entire decades.

Season 2 will pick up from where the first Season left off, with Fushi realizing that he's been on that island for 40 years.

But the trailer also confirms that he's not going to stay there. The voice of Fushi's creator is heard throughout, bringing with him a new call to adventure.

New characters are also seen, suggesting that despite his grief Fushi will, eventually, make new friends again.

But as Nokkers, the horrifying creatures who pursue Fushi to steal his forms and thwart his progress are still a threat, how will he keep his loved ones safe this time?

To Your Eternity Season 2 will be produced by Studio Drive.

This is a shift, as the first Season of To Your Eternity was produced by Studio Brain's Base, also known for Baccano! and Natsume's Book of Friends.

Drive has fewer titles in its name, most of them forthcoming, with Teppen!, Actors: Song Connections, and Vlad Love being its only airing shows at the time.

Of course, such a new studio needs amazing stories like To Your Eternity to gain momentum, and, hopefully, they'll do a great job!

Season 2 will be directed by Kiyoko Sayama who also worked on Death Note's storyboard among other successes.

Once again, Fushi will be voiced by the talented Reiji Kawashima who did an amazing job with the character's initially broken speech patterns. Eri Inagawa (Tonari) and Kenjirou Tsuda (Fushi's creator) will also reappear.

Otherwise, we expect a largely new cast, given that Fushi is going to interact with a lot of new people we haven't met yet.
