While the first season explored their personal rankings, Tiger & Bunny Season 2 employs a Buddy Program for the rest of the superheroes in Stern Bild City, where Kotetsu Kaburagi and Barnaby Brooks Jr. compete with other superheroes in accumulating hero points for the King of Heroes ranking on Hero TV.
Now that they must work in tandem with their teammates, they must gain a better understanding of one another in order to solve crimes and save lives. Despite their personal troubles, Kotetsu and Barnaby assist their teammates in achieving a flawless partnership similar to their own.
The new season introduces fans to the primary villains, Fugan and Mugan, as well as new heroes such as the shield wielder Mr. Black, the psychokinetic He is Thomas, and the water manipulator Magical Cat.
While the anime appears to be episodic in nature, the latter half grows into an intriguing synthesis of all of the anime's post-credit scenes.
