Thunderbolts Movie Reportedly Dropping One of Its Members

A few months ago, Marvel Studios announced the line-up for the Thunderbolts film which includes some of the beloved MCU characters from past movies and TV shows. While the plot details are currently being kept under wraps, fans are looking forward to seeing what the dynamic of these characters together will look like.

One of the members that were announced to be part of the group is Ava Starr/Ghost from Ant-Man and the Wasp played by Hannah John-Kamen. Unlike the other characters, she is the only one who is a powered being. However, it looks like she may no longer be part of the line-up after all.

Giant Freakin Robot first reported that John-Kamen is no longer going to be part of the Thunderbolts film thus removing Ghost from the line-up. There is no reason stated in the report regarding why she exited or was removed from the film.

Hours later, notable insider @CanWeGetSomeToast corroborated the report on Twitter where they also revealed that they heard from sources that Ghost is no longer part of Thunderbolts.

Another insider on Twitter, The Watcher (@thewatcher_2099), added more details about the rumor where they claimed that the character will be moved to another project where they will explore her connection to S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra.

So far, Marvel Studios has not confirmed any of these reports so we have to take it with a grain of salt. Considering that the film is still in pre-production, we might hear the confirmation or clarification around this time before filming begins this summer.

If it ends up being true, it is disappointing to hear that Ghost will not be part of the film since there are some MCU fans who have been anticipating her return, and, hopefully, she does end up appearing in other projects.

With the potential absence of Ghost, it would also mean that the team will now only consist of super-soldier characters and there will be no powered-beings in the line-up which could have been helpful or not depending on the villain that they will face.
