Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts is making huge waves this week but the upcoming Phase Five film has left fans quite conflicted. For starters, cameras will reportedly begin rolling for the project this June which is a lot sooner than anyone expected. Now, a new production update for the film seemingly confirms that one actor has been removed from the line-up.
According to a new scoop from Twitter insider @CanWeGetToast, actress Hannah John-Kamen who made her MCU debut in 2018's Ant-Man and the Wasp has been dropped from the project although the source didn't disclose other details.
In a separate report, tipster Grace Randolph said that John-Kamen isn't listed on the film's official cast and breakdown, suggesting that she might have been removed. As it stands, nothing official has been set in stone so of course, it's still best to take this report with a huge grain of salt.
Naturally, MCU fans aren't thrilled about Ava Starr's potential ousting from Thunderbolts, especially considering it's been five years since she was last involved in a Marvel project and many thought she was incredibly underutilized. Check out some of the reactions below:

If the rumors surrounding John-Kamen's from the film removal are true, it'll be a huge bummer considering she's the only member of the team who possesses unique phasing abilities, not to mention the most useful because of her powers. That leaves the MCU's version of the Thunderbolts consisting of no one other than super soldiers.
In hindsight though, it makes the team balanced so I guess it's still a pretty logical move. There's a good chance that's the line-up Marvel Studios is going for but we'll see.
Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts is slated for theatrical release on July 26, 2024.
