Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania received polarizing responses from critics and the audience when it was released earlier this year. Considering that it is the first Phase Five film and introduces the current saga's big baddie, it was a disappointing result that Marvel Studios rarely experiences.

There are a lot of reasons why the film wasn't mostly successful whether it's the VFX, screenplay, convoluted storytelling, or its departure from the first two films' grounded tone.

As months have now passed since the film was released, we now have a candid reaction from one of the original stars of the MCU.

In an interview with GQ, Thor actor Chris Hemsworth was asked about his thoughts regarding the recent MCU releases such as Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

After he admitted that he has not seen the film, he asked the interviewer about his thoughts and he questioned its bigger scope compared to the other films.

"That’s the trick: you have to separate all those stories. The moment it’s like [he does his best trailer voice] ‘Your world is in danger, the entire universe!’ It’s like, ‘Yeah, so [it] was the last 24 films.’ It has to become a bit more personal and grounded," he said.

Meanwhile, the actor had an enthusiastic response to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever where he described it as "really cool."

Hemsworth's thoughts about the film really echo some of the fan sentiments as a lot of them also questioned why it departed from the first two films' grounded tone and Earth-based setting and went full-on science-fiction/fantasy route to lesser success.

While it is also an unfair reaction since he has not seen the film, there is some truth to what Hemsworth said and, as a veteran of the franchise, he definitely has an idea of what's best for the MCU.

So far, Marvel Studios remain mum on their plans for Ant-Man's next journey in the MCU although its villain Kang the Conqueror is expected to appear in more projects to solidify his stance as the Multiverse Saga's villain.
