Thor Ragnarok: Jack Black Challenges Thor To A 'Battle Of The Jams'

Led Zeppelin's Immigrant Song was cleverly used in the marketing for Thor: Ragnarok and the song made itself relevant in the movie as well. Jack Black, who had sung a version of it in the cult classic School of Rock, thinks the movie had stolen his thunder and challenges Thor to a "Battle of the Jams."

Now all this is in good fun, and I can imagine it going down in someone's talk show, be it Conan or Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Then again, I think Hemsworth is in an unfair disadvantage since Black is already an accomplished singer while Hemsworth didn't have any singing to do in Ragnarok.

Just for kicks, here's Immigrant Song in School of Rock:

Now that I think about it, I would actually love to see Jack Black enter the MCU in one form or another. With Volstagg dying in Ragnarok, I would love to see Thor make more friends across the realms, and Black would make a perfect dwarf companion. Maybe he can be the one to forge Thor's new hammer?

Imprisoned on the other side of the universe, the mighty Thor finds himself in a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against the Hulk, his former ally and fellow Avenger. Thor's quest for survival leads him in a race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home world and the Asgardian civilization.

Thor: Ragnarok is now out in theaters.
