We already know that Jane Foster will be back in Thor: Love and Thunder. After all, Natalie Portman's character is set to become the new God of Thunder in the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel. However, it looks like the film will also take us back into the past. New set photos seem to confirm that we'll see a flashback to the events in Thor: The Dark World.
The Dark World was the second Thor film and the last one that featured Jane before Portman was announced to appear in Thor: Love and Thunder. In the film, Thor and Jane were reunited as the latter accidentally connected with the Aether. Although they stayed together by the end of the movie, it was revealed in Thor: Ragnarok that they broke up soon after.
In Ragnarok, it was revealed that Jane had dumped Thor but he insisted that it was a mutual break-up. But it looks like the truth will be revealed in Thor: Love and Thunder. Photos taken from the set of the fourth film seem to confirm that Chris Hemsworth is putting on his old wig from The Dark World. Check them out here.
It's interesting to know that Thor 4 might try to settle an old fan debate about how Thor's relationship with Jane fell apart. On the other hand, the scene might be something different. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
Jane isn't the only character who will be returning after being absent in Ragnarok. Jaimie Alexander is also set to reprise her role as Lady Sif. The character was last seen in The Dark World where she only had a minor role.
Thor: Love and Thunder is directed by Taika Waititi. The highly anticipated MCU sequel is scheduled for theatrical release on July 8, 2022.
