Thor: Love and Thunder Has Deleted Scenes Involving Two Notable MCU Characters

We're now just a week away before Thor: Love and Thunder hits theaters. The upcoming film is expected to have a gigantic cast of characters as it will include Thor and his friends, the villainous Gorr, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Zeus, and many more. However, it looks like there were two notable MCU characters from past films that were supposed to show up as well.

In a recent interview with Prensaescenario, Christian Bale, who plays Gorr, revealed that he filmed scenes in Thor: Love and Thunder where he interacted with Jeff Goldblum's Grandmaster and Peter Dinklage's Eitri. Unfortunately, they were cut from the film even though they were "beautiful, brilliant stuff."

"Taika just created a really, really, good cast. And everybody else I'm not mentioning as well," Bale said. "I got to work with Peter Dinklage, that's not in the final film, but I got to work with him. He's fantastic. I got to work with Jeff Goldblum, he's not in the final film either. As you see lots of stuff ends up on the cutting room floor, even though it is beautiful, brilliant stuff."

However, Bale didn't explain why Goldblum and Dinklage were cut from the film or whether the deleted scenes will ever see the light of day on its home video release later on.

It is unfortunate to hear that those two characters will not make a comeback in the upcoming film and it would have been great to see where they are right now in the current MCU timeline. Right now, we don't know yet why they were cut and perhaps Marvel has plans for them to have a proper return in a future MCU project.

It's hard to tell how they were originally supposed to show up in the film. An easy guess is that Gorr would have killed them off to show the character's brutality. Either way, it looks like we won't be expecting any appearances from them anymore although we might see other notable MCU characters have a surprise appearance somewhere in the film that they haven't publicly unveiled yet.
