With his Batman days behind him, Christian Bale was suddenly the center of attention again when word got out that he was in talks to join the MCU with Thor: Love and Thunder. Though we don't have any official announcement on who he's playing, rumor has come out that he could be playing this Marvel fan favorite.

According to Murphy's Multiverse, a source has said that Christian Bale's character in the film is said to be mo-cap, and what's more, there is a mention of Beta Ray Bill. Again, this is just a rumor for now, but including Bill for the fourth movie could be the right move on Marvel's part.

Just in case you aren't familiar with Beta Ray Bill, he's basically a play on a ‘monster' that turns out to be a hero—in fact, he's worthy enough to lift Mjolnir. What's also interesting is that Bill is the original wielder of Stormbreaker. With Thor out to find his calling and holding Stormbreaker already, what are the odds that Thor would pass it on to a worthy successor, someone like Beta Ray Bill?

Of course, we should still take this information with a grain of salt. It would be weird if the film would cast someone as high-profile as Bale and not have his face onscreen. Then again, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel are pretty famous, but they just provide voices for characters. I don't imagine it would be too hard for Bale to play a role similar to that.

Bale's casting has not been officially confirmed, but Thor: Love and Thunder is aiming for a release on Nov. 5, 2021.
